We collect limited personal information through two channels: our newsletter subscription form (email address) and our contact form (name, email address, and message). We do not require registration or collect payment information. We also collect anonymised usage data through Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site and to improve our content.

We use the information you provide solely to respond to your enquiries (contact form) and to send you the Food Safety Helpline newsletter (email subscription). We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Analytics data is used exclusively to improve site content and user experience.

Data Protection

We are committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDP Act). We collect only the minimum data necessary for the stated purposes, retain it only as long as required, and take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect it against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure.

Newsletter and Communications

Our newsletter is managed through Sendy, a self-hosted email marketing platform. When you subscribe, we use a double opt-in process — you will receive a confirmation email and must click the confirmation link before being added to our mailing list. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email. We will promptly remove your email address upon request.

Cookies and Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect anonymised information about how visitors use our site — including pages visited, time spent, and general geographic region (country level only). GA4 is configured to anonymise IP addresses. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on .

Third-Party Services

This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages and uses Cloudflare Turnstile for bot protection on our forms. Cloudflare may process technical data (IP addresses, request headers) as part of providing these services. Please refer to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy for details.

Your Rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDP Act), you have the right to access, correct, and request erasure of your personal data held by us. To exercise these rights, please contact us. We will respond to valid requests within a reasonable timeframe.

Data Retention

Contact form submissions are retained for up to 12 months to enable us to respond to follow-up queries. Newsletter subscriber data is retained until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained for 14 months in GA4 (default retention period), then automatically deleted.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
